Dr. Gmerek is a highly skilled podiatrist specializing in diabetic foot care, sports-related injuries of the foot, and foot surgery. With a compassionate approach to care, he treats patients of all ages, from children to seniors, ensuring each patient receives the personalized treatment they need.

Dr. Gmerek earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the prestigious New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City, where he also completed his surgical and orthopedic residency. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and holds additional certifications in foot surgery from both the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. His extensive education and specialized training allow him to provide expert care for a wide range of podiatric conditions.

Having been in private practice since 2001, Dr. Gmerek has earned a strong reputation for his dedication to patient care and his expertise in foot surgery. He is affiliated with several respected institutions, including Highland Hospital, F.F. Thompson Hospital, Noyes Hospital, and RASC (Rochester Ambulatory Surgery Center), where he provides surgical care and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

In addition to his work in the office, Dr. Gmerek is deeply committed to serving his community. He regularly provides podiatric services to patients in nursing homes and those with developmental disabilities, making sure that those with unique healthcare needs receive the specialized care they deserve. He also maintains three convenient office locations across Monroe and Livingston counties, allowing him to reach more patients and provide care where it's most needed.

Dr. Gmerek resides in Pittsford with his wife, two children and golden retriever Bella. Outside of his medical practice, he is an avid hockey player and fan. He enjoys watching and coaching his children's sports, sharing his passion for athleticism and teamwork with the next generation.
